Benefits of Online Therapy

Convenient for People with Busy Schedules

Online therapy is ideal for busy people whose schedules don’t have enough flexibility for traveling to a therapist’s office, parking, and traveling back to the office or home. If you already feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day for all the things you need to do, taking time out for traveling to and from your therapist’s office feels impossible. With online therapy, you can reap the benefits of getting help with what you’re going through without feeling like you’ll need to sacrifice valuable time you need for your family or your job. You can log in for your session from any device in your home, office, or vehicle (as long as you are parked) – anywhere that is convenient for you and private, with a strong, secure internet connection.

As Effective as Seeing a Therapist in Person

There is research that shows that for most presenting concerns online therapy is as effective as therapy in person. In certain cases, I will recommend in-person therapy, such as when a person is having suicidal thoughts or is in a drug or alcohol related psychological crisis. For most clients, however, online therapy is an ideal option. The flexibility and convenience of online therapy means fewer session cancellations due to unexpected travel delays or time crunches. And the more regularly you attend therapy, the better your outcome will be! That’s a win-win.

Therapy With a Specialist in Treating ADHD, and Associated Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD

Online therapy makes it possible for you to work with someone who specializes in your concerns, not just a therapist whose office location is near you. In my experience, the most important thing to clients is not a convenient office location, but rather feeling like a therapist really gets the depth and complexity of their concerns and their daily lived experience. I specialize in treating women with ADHD. I also have many years of experience treating anxiety and anxiety disorders, and depression. I understand these issues in depth because of my training and years of clinical experience, but also because of my own lived experience. Working with a therapist who is more than just compassionate but really gets it and knows how to help you function better and be happier is invaluable.
